Test Pressing for Imagine 1972 - White Label / White Sleeve

Double-sided test pressing for the album Imagine, 1972, white labels, in white paper sleeve

This test pressing had been one of John Lennon's own copies, he gave it to Ray Connolly when he visited John at his home, Tittenhurst Park in July 1971, soon after the album was recorded. Connolly recalls that after playing tracks from this test pressing to him, Lennon gave him the record as he was leaving: "Won't you need it?" I asked. "No" he replied. "I've had the gaps between the songs changed slightly. I've got another one now". So [Connolly] took the white label test pressing home and played it all that summer, until the official version was released in the UK in the autumn...
